MAHA & the Midterms: Insights From Axios Health Reporter Caitlin Owens

We’re counting down to the midterm election results on Nov. 3 and Make America Healthy Again supporters are weighing their choices. The movement gained attention about two years ago for what advocates saw as a need for healthier food, a cleaner environment and a “safer” vaccine schedule. They believed Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.’s role in the Trump administration would be a powerful place to turn their ideas into reality.

But Axios senior health care policy reporter Caitlin Owens says their enthusiasm seems to have dissipated a bit. Statewide MAHA candidates in Texas and Kansas are behind in the polls and some supporters were surprised corporate interests played such a big role in a recent MAHA summit.

Hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter also ask Owens to weigh in on the big questions in Washington right now: Will Kennedy stay on as Health and Human Services Secretary or will he leave to un for president in 2028?

Tune in to hear her answers.
